Camera Surveillance Privacy Notice

2. Purpose of Video Surveillance

Video surveillance is used solely for security purposes, in particular:

  • Protection of company property
  • Prevention of burglary and unauthorized access
  • Investigation of security incidents

Cameras are not used for employee monitoring.

3. Camera Locations

Cameras are installed only inside company premises in the following areas:

  • Interior entrance area
  • Test room

Cameras do not record public spaces, streets, or sidewalks.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR – Legitimate Interests. Our legitimate interest is to ensure the security of the premises and protect against burglary and unauthorized access.

5. Data Collected

The surveillance system records:

  • Video footage of individuals entering monitored areas
  • Time and date of recording

Audio is not recorded.

6. Storage and Retention

Recordings are stored on a local company server and are automatically deleted after 72 hours, unless required for the investigation of a security incident.

7. Access to Recordings

Access is strictly limited to authorized personnel of Sitegeist GmbH. Recordings may be disclosed to third parties only when legally required — for example, to law enforcement authorities in the event of a burglary or criminal investigation.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

9. Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe the processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection law. The competent authority for Bavaria is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA).
